3.5 hours lecture + 1 hands-on - 15 attendees per class max
Prerequisite : Attendance of the initial chemical hygiene workshop
Agenda
- Site-specific components of chemical hygiene plans
- WISHA Airborne Contaminants List and Table
- Exposure limits and guidelines for specific chemicals of concern
- Lead, hexavalent chromium, methylene chloride, benzene, carcinogens, etc.
- Hazardous waste characterization and disposal options
- School science lab safety inspection practicum (done in a high-school lab stockroom)
- Spill response demonstration and discussion
